Re/Work
It was a shaky morning,
car horns and sirens,
nervous parents asking
where their children were.
Eichmann just stared.
He seemed to be staring
at something that hadn’t
actually been born yet.
His baseball cap said
Vietnam Vet on the front.
But birds don’t care
whose head they crap on.
Eichmann made
a gun with his finger,
trying to shoot that bird.
He went boom-boom.
Corpse-eating flies
rose in clouds,
deer knelt down
on the mountainside.
