She has been published in literary anthologies and educational journals, and her poetry has been selected as texts for compositions commissioned by the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Ars Nova Singers. Megan holds degrees from Occidental College and the Ohio State University and lives near Boulder, Colorado.



Giving Way to Longing
                                    after the Manyōshū

I have come to know
    the truth of why the seed
           beneath the soil
cracks and heaves upward
     following fissures in the earth

the chance to feel moonlight
      on petals at night
is too great an opportunity
      to pass up
