Gun Rack
At the crossroads, a stoplight
beams bright red—as red as
the blood of those who have
been taken. As red as screaming
infant faces stung by the salt of a
hundred thousand tears. Streaming
lazily through a windshield, blood-light
broken boldly by the visage of a sticker
reading Make America Great Again,
and by the silhouette of granddaddy’s
gun rack.
