Stray

I have always believed in totems
an emblem of happiness
and the thick impression
of the threads on my wrist
cutting close to the skin
a paradox of pain and happiness
woven together
reminds me of the sacred promise
I have made with death
to leave behind my frailty
when I travel to the world unknown
I ask for the sign
a miracle from the god
and he sends me the stray balloon
slipped from an open soft palm
left in the skies
to wander and roam alone.
