June
Lather that Place below the navel
Fingers treading water
Time transcending time
She trails the ocean
Drags it behind her
Moves through it like glass
Cutting continents in half
I floss myself with her bones
she sinks into me like poison
Teeth grinding teeth into ash

Niamh Burns is a 23 year old queer writer from Alberta, Canada. Through their love of written expression, they have found a safe haven in a world that all too often rejects their voice. When they’re not writing long form fiction, they’re dabbling with short stories, ripping poetry from the gut and reading voraciously any fiction that draws them in and gives a deep sense of home.
